Create a moving portrait based on collage techniques, which make up the foundation of Sinan Tuncay’s practice. Before the event, where you will focus on the relationship between subject and space, prepare your full body portraits and your favorite background images. Edit these materials using Procreate on the iPad to create your collage portrait, turn them into a GIF, and discover new ways to express yourself.

Sinan Tuncay

Contemporary Artist

Artist and director Sinan Tuncay completed his undergraduate at the Department of Visual Communications Design of Sabancı University. Afterward, he finished his Master’s degree at The School of Visual Arts in photography and videography. His work has been featured in exhibitions such as Üzgünüm Leyla (New York), Mahrem-i Umumi (Lozan), Annem Evde Yok (Yakın Istanbul), Olamadığım Adamlara Mahsustur (Istanbul), as well as in several museum collections in Istanbul Modern, Musée de l’Elysée and Odunpazarı Modern Museum (OMM). He has been presented with a scholarship by the New York Artist Foundation and has recently completed his Leslie Lohman Museum artist scholarship program. He has also recently been nominated for the ‘Yılın Müzik Videosu’ (Music Video of the Year) for a music video that he designed and directed. Tuncay continues his work in both New York and Istanbul.

“My work approaches the concept of societal gender as a performative fiction. I construct spaces of different scales built on the conflict between the public and private or essence and the other, and I inquire into the relationship of the individual with the patriarchal culture.”
